Family and aftercare. Often after-care plans actively encourage friends and family to be present in your recovery. These people are often the first place to start should there be a real risk of relapse present. Both family and friends are educated in the process of relapse, and are given the knowledge to find the most appropriate support should relapse occur. Family therapy is an ideal time to discuss plans and prevention methods for after-care. The more people on board to support you, the greater your chances of recovery are long term.
